The teachers and staff at Silver Creek Adventist School know that choosing a school for your child is an important decision. We also know that, to properly make a choice, you have questions and need answers. So, this is where you can find answers to some of the most frequent questions we are asked at SCAS.
If you have a question that’s not here or need more clarification, just contact us and we’ll be happy to help you!
What grades are offered?
We offer Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.
Do you have to be a Seventh-day Adventist for your child to attend?
No, all are welcome regardless of any race, religion, sex, or national origin.
How old does a student need to be to start Kindergarten?
Students starting Kindergarten need to be five by August 15.
Do you have a dress code?
Yes. Students are required to wear a solid colored polo shirt with solid colored cotton twill bottoms (pants, shorts, capris, and skirts). Because we believe that true beauty radiates from having Jesus within, we ask that no jewelry (bracelets, anklets, rings, earrings, and necklaces) is to be worn by boys or girls.
What are the school hours?
The school day begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. On Friday the school day begins at 8:00 and ends at 12:00 pm.
Is Silver Creek Adventist School accredited?
Yes. We are accredited through the following national agencies: National Council for Private School Accreditation and Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges, and Universities, Inc. We are also accredited and supervised by the following bodies: Carolina Conference of Seventh-day Adventist and Southern Union of Seventh-day Adventists. We have been given EDGE certification (which is the highest level) from the Southern Union of Seventh-day Adventists. As a state recognized educational facility, we follow the adopted North Carolina guidelines for the length of school year, attendance policy, student transfers and immunization records.
What are tuition costs?
Please visit the tuition page for the current tuition expenses.
What does your school do to provide a safe environment for it’s students?
Main doors are locked during school hours. All guests must enter by ringing doorbell and checking in with office. Regular drills are practiced so students are aware of procedures in case of many types of emergencies. All information received by school staff regarding a student who threatens others or inflicts others with personal injury or death, causes property damage to the school or possesses weapons on school grounds will be treated in a serious manner.
How is standardized testing used at your school?
NWEA MAP Growth Assessments are given to all students three times during each school year. These tests are used to help each teacher know how to better meet the needs of each student. They are not used for class placement.
